We offer ProCoco coconut substrate in 10 pound compressed blocks. Often, new users of this product ask how to, and there are just enough steps to make us feel the need to create a tutorial for you!

This substrate compares to many other brands including ReptiChip and others, but we have had the best luck with this option. This holds moisture for much needed humidity for our ball pythons. It allows them a surface to help with shedding. It resists the mold and mildew that we experienced in excess with other brands.

When you've expanded the block and are storing, be sure you have allowed it to dry fully before closing the bin it is in. When you are cleaning, you can spot clean as needed to remove waste and excess moisture, and when you are doing a full replacement, be sure you throw the used substrate into the garden or compost pile to add amazing soil conditioning to your space!
